The premise of Jeevan Saathi is based in Mehsana, Gujarat. It is the story of a powerful and reputed family, headed by Vikramaditya Rathod. Vikramaditya is revered as a fine gentleman, a man of traditions and principles and his popularity spans across the world for being the ambassador of Indian art and culture. Viraj, his daughter is his pride and honour. As a part of an exchange programme, one of his students Neil comes to India from Cambridge to learn about Indian art and culture under the tutelage of Vikramaditya Rathod. Viraj and Neil's introduction starts on a fairly rough note full of squabbles and fights. They both meet like strangers, fight like kids and eventually fall in love without knowing what destiny had in store. Their love was welcomed with hatred, anger and blood and their fault being that they belonged to different religions. Viraj has to face the ire of her rigid and principled father. Will their love be able to withstand the sinister designs of religion-based politics or meet a tragic end like most love stories.
